Stress Management

In-person in Fargo - Online across ND and MN

Stress management and medication management for children, teens, and adults living with constant overwhelm, tension, and the feeling of running on empty.

What is Stress Management?

Stress management is care for when everyday pressure has tipped into something that is wearing down your body, mood, and health. Some stress is normal. This is more than that. When it stops letting up, it can take a real toll, and that is worth addressing. For many people that means support, healthier coping, and treating any anxiety or low mood the stress has stirred up.

Long-term stress does not just live in your head, it shows up as tension, exhaustion, poor sleep, and a short fuse. We look at how it is affecting your whole self, then help you lighten the load and build coping that holds up when life gets demanding again.

Care is led by Dr. Aminata Kamara, a board-certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner (PMHNP), alongside our clinical team.

  • You feel irritable, on edge, or close to burnout

  • You are relying on unhealthy habits to cope

How We Approach Your Care

We start by understanding you

We take time to understand what is loading you down, what you have already tried, and what your days demand.

We explain what we find

We help you ease the pressure and build coping that holds, so stress stops running the show.

We find the right medication

When stress has stirred up anxiety or low mood, medication can help, and we use it thoughtfully and adjust as needed.

We pair medication with support

Medication is just one piece, and we pair it with practical coping strategies and coordinate with your other providers.

We stay with you

Stress ebbs and surges with life, so we keep checking in and adjusting as your circumstances change.

As part of a thorough evaluation, we order baseline labs to help rule out other medical causes for your symptoms

Stress Management FAQs

How can a psychiatric provider help with stress?

We help you understand how stress is affecting you, build healthier coping, and treat any anxiety or depression it has stirred up, with medication when appropriate. We tailor the plan to you and adjust over time.

What is the difference between stress and anxiety?

Stress is usually a response to an external demand and often eases when the demand does. Anxiety tends to persist even without a clear trigger. They overlap, and chronic stress can lead to anxiety, so we treat both.

What if past medications haven't worked?

That's common. The right plan is often a matter of fit. We monitor closely, adjust as needed, and can use pharmacogenomic (GeneSight) testing to help guide medication choice.
