ADHD Assessment & Treatment

In-person in Fargo - Online across ND and MN

ADHD assessment and medication management for children, teens, and adults who struggle with focus, organization, and follow-through.

What is an ADHD Assessment?

An ADHD assessment is how we figure out what's really going on with your focus, memory, and follow-through. It is not a quick quiz. Plenty of people come to us after years of being told to just try harder, wondering why the usual tricks never stick.

You leave with a clear picture of what's driving it and a plan built on that, not a label handed over in a fifteen-minute visit. If medication makes sense, we manage it carefully and adjust as we learn what helps.

Care is led by Dr. Aminata Kamara, a board-certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner (PMHNP), alongside our clinical team.

Does this sound like you?

ADHD is more than being distracted. Day to day, it can feel like:

  • You start things with the best intentions, then they fizzle out half-done

  • Your keys, your appointments, your train of thought, all of it slips away

  • You are always running late or behind

  • You reread the same email five times and still miss what it said

  • You feel fried by the end of the day, like you worked hard and got nowhere

Types of ADHD We Treat

Inattentive ADHD

When the struggle is mostly forgetfulness, distraction, losing track of time, and unfinished tasks.

Hyperactive-impulsive ADHD

When restlessness, impulsivity, and a constant, driven-by-a-motor feeling lead.

Combined-type ADHD

When both the inattentive and the hyperactive sides show up together.

Adult-onset recognition

For adults who were never diagnosed as kids and are finally connecting the dots.

Co-occurring anxiety or depression

When ADHD shows up alongside anxiety or low mood, which is common, and needs a plan that accounts for both.

How We Approach Your Care

We start by understanding you

We get a clear picture of your history and how ADHD shows up in your daily life before anything else.

We explain what we find

No jargon and no rushed label. You leave understanding what is going on and why.

We find the right medication, carefully

If medication is part of your plan, we start thoughtfully and adjust based on how you respond.

We use genetic testing when it helps

Pharmacogenomic (GeneSight) testing can point us toward the medication most likely to work for your body.

We stay with you

Close monitoring and direct access to your provider, so you are never managing this alone.

As part of a thorough evaluation, we order baseline labs to help rule out other medical causes for your symptoms

We're a good fit for you, if:

You're an adult, teen, or child (age 5 and up) struggling with follow-through or having trouble at school

You suspect ADHD but have never been formally assessed or diagnosed

You've tried planners, apps, and willpower without lasting results

Life After Being Diagnosed With ADHD

Things stop falling through the cracks, and you follow through.

The day feels lighter, whether that's keeping up at work or staying on top of home.

You stop losing time and missing the moments that matter to you.

The little mistakes ease up, and your confidence starts coming back.

You feel calmer. More in the driver's seat of your day.

It finally clicks how your brain works, and you have a plan made for it.
